Terrified biopsy of womb lining marked urgent

Feel terrified, lining of womb was a little thicker than it should have been only 6ml should be 4ml so I wasn’t worried . Hysteroscopy biopsy has shown up something with a strong blood supply looks quite large on screen. Consultant has marked biopsy urgent and will be in touch within 7 days . Chance it could be hypoplasia but I’m not convinced ; explained team have meeting to discuss treatment etc and how they proceed. Has anyone else had folic acid anaemia as I was anaemic which is unheard of for me ) a few months ago . I’m 52 and post menopausal no bleeding at all which has to be positive . Sat night sat here trying so hard to be brave ️

  • Hi cally ...

It's always the hardest part for most of us on here, is that wait to know results ... it really is scary, mostly because the brain goes into overdrive and all the "what ifs" and the unknown is overwhelming. .

But we've all been there, and your not alone, coz we don't imagine how your feeling, we know ... the thing about this crule cancer , is everything is waiting .. Drs appointments/ scans / results / operations ... then wait for those results, and treatment ... so although we never get used to the wait... most of us have found keeping as busy as possible,  coz it's when we sit and think that's the worst ...

Try to live in the day ... and yes you will have lots of feelings... but cancer wants us to buckle under, and lay down ... well if you need them I've got a spare pair of boxing gloves waiting for you ... it's not an easy road, but you can do this .. there's lots of us on here, that will help you through if you need it ..

I had a grade 3 breast lump, and my mastectomy last July, and I'm still here chatting to you ... cancer treatments have come a long way .. and you don't know for sure yet, so hold on in there ...

Sending you a big hug ... Chrissie  x

  • Hi Chrissie

Thank you for your reply, it’s so good to hear positive outcomes,I’m really pleased to hear you are doing well . For me such a shock as I’ve had no symptoms and of course it’s this awful waiting time , I’m told I will know within 7 days so I guess I’m lucky compared to some people on here .I haven’t written myself off yet ha but need to know ASAP what I’m dealing with if of course anything .

Thanks again , on a positive the house is having a good clear out as I can’t sit still xxx

  • Well , the house is a good way to keep busy .. do anything you can ... let us know how it goes .. got everything crossed for you ... Chrissie x

  • Hi

Just thought I’d add my welcome to you and tell you I’ve been exactly where you are now. I think this first part for me was the scariest. People on here especially Chrissie have been very supportive. She’s right waiting is the hardest part. When you know what’s what your mind can get itself in gear.

In my case I was diagnosed with grade 1 stage 1 endometrial cancer after the hysterectomy showed up something suspicious. I had a keyhole hysterectomy and was in hospital overnight and recovered well within 4 weeks, That got all the cancer but histology upgraded it to 3 so more aggressive, I could have had chemo and radiotherapy straight away or have a second op to remove lymph nodes for testing, so fourteen weeks after the first op I again had keyhole surgery and an overnight stay, A bit harde to get over that one but I’m doing well now seven weeks post op. Nodes were clear so I just need  three sessions of internal radiotherapy which start in a weeks time. I’m here, back to my usual self and going on a cruise at the end of October. In remission and surviving... Great treatment and caring doctors and nurses are out there to help us and new treatments are coming thick and fast,

So I hope that your diagnosis is good news but if it’s not as good as you would like, there is help and support available. The people on this forum have been wonderful.

  • Hi Sundial

Thank you so much for your reply , I am so sorry you are having to go through this but its so reassuring to hear your story and how well you are doing. I have no clue how it must feel to be diagnosed , however this awful waiting is horrid.

Do you mind me asking did you have any symptoms at all , I havent had any apart from I was aneamic but I am not entirely sure this is a symptom. I woulsnt be this negative if I hadnt seen the screen with def something there with a strong blood supply so I was told.

I feel like Im a stuck record just waiting but at the same time not wanting to know in case its the worst.

How long did you have to wait for your results?

So many questions but I feel until I know perhaps I shouldnt be jumping ahead.

  • Hi Caroline.

Yes I did have just one symptom which was abnormal bleeding on a few occasions s. Althoogh it was only on the third occasion that I was referred. It was always put down to something else. I had no other symptoms though.

I waited three weeks for my results but that was unusual because it was the Easter break then the consultant was on annual leave, I have to say those three weeks were of nightmare proportions. I think I’d gone through every possible scenario by the time I saw the consultant. After the diagnosis I taught myself to set a time aside to worry then tried to put it to one side. It can be done on most days but on really dark days people here were tremendous support. They just know how you feel.

please let us know how you get on. I’m sending a virtual squeeze from my hand to yours.

  • Thank you so much ,yes it’s good to be able to share with people who understand how you are feeling without worrying friends and family , so far I’ve only told my husband and older two children as in my head I’m questioning if I’m being a drama queen !!

I will certainly update you all ,thank you again for taking the time and positive thoughts and wishes to you too x
