New to forum - mum of testicular cancer sufferer

Hi. My son was recently diagnosed with testicular cancer and is now undergoing chemotherapy.  I am really struggling at times to cope with the heartache of seeing him go through this. Just looking to chat with people that may understand how I feel x

  • Hello Cancermum

I am sorry to read that your son has been diagnosed with cancer and you are in a club that nobody wants to be in.  It is such a shock when your son is diagnosed and your heart is full of pain and fear.  I felt that  I had failed as a mum as I could not make it better which is what should happen.   Watching them go through chemo is hearbreaking but you just have to be you, mum.  My son was 34 when he was diagnosed with bowel cancer and he lived just 2 miles from us, we are a very close family so we were very involved in every aspect of his cancer treatment.  It is a lonlely place to be and your friends are very well meaning but they cant truly understand the anguish that you feel as a mother.  If there is a Maggies Centre at the hospital that is a good place to meet people and talk also the Clan centres.  I dont know if this helps you in anyway and I wish you and your son wellxx
