Newbie

Hello,  just taught I'd introduce myself to the forum.  Diagnosed with Non Hodgkin lymphoma in October 2017 stage 4 DLBCL got it in my chest, abdomen liver, spleen and bone marrow received 6 RCHOP and 4 interthechels in spine plus GCSF injections.  RCHOP got rid of almost all of it except for spleen,  received 2 cycles of GDP which forgive my language tore me a new one!!  SPENT 4 days in hospital suffering from side effects of both cycles.  However now been told that very small amount of activity in spleen that was after Pet scan, ultrasound and ct scan anyway now been told that they will play a waiting game as activity to small to do biopsy on.  they took out PICC LINE on Tuesday,  last chemo treatment 2 days after mothers funeral in June (fun and games during that period i can tell you!!)  Will have end of treatment PET scan in September with follow up appointment with consultants a week later   Still have stiffness in fingers and toes and feeling tired but good in spirits.

  • Hello NHLS4,

A big welcome to Cancer Chat. Thanks for sharing your story you certainly have been through a lot recently. Spending 4 days in hospital suffering from side effects of both cycles must have been so hard. And I can't even imagine what it must have been like to have the last chemotherapy treatment two days after your mum's funeral. It is incredible that with all that has hit you recently you manage to keep a good sense of humour and in good spirits.

Woohoo the PICC line is out though and the end of treatment PET scan is in September so that is something to celebrate! With the end of all this in sight, you probably feel a little bit relieved. Hopefully these last side effects of stiffness in toes and fingers will subside soon and you will gradually feel a bit less tired.

We'd love to hear another update from you when you have had your scan and follow up appointment in September or anytime really you want to share your latests news!

    Best wishes,
