Hi
i was diagnosed with endometrial cancer grade 1 stage 1b in April. I had a keyhole radical hysterectomy in May. Histology two weeks later upgraded cancer from 1 to 3 so more radical treatment was needed. On July 23 I had both pelvic lymph glands removed to be tested. Results are due this Friday when I will know whether I need chemo and RT. It has been a very scary four months where I have yo yoed emotionally. The waiting is the hardest part whether it be for appts, results, ops or treatment. However people on this site have been great. There is always someone to listen and support.
Look after yourself post op. Don’t do too much even if you feel fine. I’ve had both ups and some down days after both ops.

Yes the waiting is the hardest part. I originally got diagnosed with a prolapse womb and waited for 2 months before being told it was cervical cancer. Then waited for scans, biopsy’s, pet scan etc. Your mind is all over the place. I was sick of crying at 1 point. I am sorry your have had all the uncertainty. I go back to see doc on 30 th August. I had my pelvic lymph glands removed. Doc says he will tell me if need radiotherapy or not at appointment. I hope your family and friends have been there for you. I hope you get the best possible outcome on Friday. The NHS have been wonderful to me once I got the right diagnosis.
Thanks for your advice and take care. I am here to listen anytime.
It’s goid they took your lymph glands at the same time, I was told mine was not done at the same time because as they thought it was low grade there was no need. Just unfortunate I think. After the first op I was given a choice between lymph node removal or 25 sessions of radical radiotherapy. I decided to opt for testing because I may not need further treatment but if I do at least I will know for certain. You are right the NHS have been great once diagnosis in place and you get to see the experts if a little slower that we’d like. And yes my husband, two children and sister have been very supportive both practically and emotionally.
Hope you are still progressing well.

That’s great you have got support from your family. I met some lovely ladies while I was in hospital for my op. Talking about our cancer and silly things we were worrying about helped to pass the time waiting to go down. We managed to have a laugh even though we were obviously nervous.
Good luck for Friday and keep in touch.
Hi
I was just wondering how you got on today? Really hope you had good news after all the waiting.
It was good news. All lymph nodes were clear. I just need two or three sessions of internal radiation which is more precise, less intrusive and with fewer side effects. Thank you for asking.
