Hi, Newby here... Granulosa Adult Tumors

Hi everyone!

Im new to this site. I was diagnosed with Granulosa Tumors (adult) and have or had stage 1 Cancer (its still hard to say) I had a partial hysterectomy in May then the pathology came back as Stage 1 so in June I had a full hysterectomy and I am now in remission.

Its crazy because the only reason it was found is because I went to my dr to get a MRI on my elbow and they did it on my lower back instead and well the large mass was found. Crazy how things work hu....

But here I am now, unsure about this type of cancer. I know its a rare ovarian cancer and and I cant take hormones now that im.in menopause because it would be like food for the cancer.  So does anyone have any suggestions or ideas in what I can expect or will feel? Even though Im in remission, I'm  still scared to lose myself. If that makes any sense. And help on what to expect, take or queations to ask my dr would be appreciated. My post opt appointment is Aug 7th.  Thank you all and hope your all doing and feeling well

  • Sorry don't know about that type of cancer ... I'm a breast lass ...but just wanted to say hi and welcome .. and hope someone pops by who can help .. maybe "ask the nurses" will have info you need .. l have had a hysterectomy years ago, but not for cancer ... so you take care, as that takes a while to heal ...

But big vertual hug .. chrissie x

  • Hi Chriss. Thank you for responding to my post. Its such a rare cancer that I have, but it found me . Its still feels weird to say I had cancer or im in remission. Im glad I found this chat place, because it helps to talk to others who understand what im feeling or going through. My family is great but still they dont understand it all.

    Virtual hug back to ya...
