Intro

Hi, I'm 51 years old and a T1 diabetic. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 NST Breast Cancer HER2-, oestregen+. I have had 6 rounds of chemo, a lumpectomy/lymph removal and 19 rounds of radiotherapy, which I finished on 13th June.  I am also on a monthly injection to curb my oestregen level. I am waiting to hear from my Consultant regards future treatment. I hate the waiting, it makes me so anxious when you are not dealing with the hospital.

  • Hi there ...

The waiting really is scary and I think the hardest part ... my son is diabetic too so I know how much that impacts on daily life ... I had mastectomy last July and I was a grade 3 her2 neg, oestrogen positive too .. so l know that journey,  so you having both must be doubly tough ..

I have now got used to the "waiting game" as I realise no amount of stress or worry will change the result and the results arnt always bad ... there's no easy way through but keeping as busy as possible is the key ... it's when you stop and start thinking your mind goes into over drive ...

So hold on in there and if you look back, you'll see just how far you've come up till now ... and you did that ... Chrissie
