Breast cancer diagnosis

Hello, I'm Sam & I'm 48.

I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer after I found a lump, which has now doubled in size, had another set of biopsies after it spread to aux node & another much smaller lump were found by mri. Oncologist said 6 mths chemo to shrink large lump followed by op is looking most likely. My treatment plan had been delayed but hopefully I'll get it tomorrow (technically today now I guess). I know that they have to sure I get the best treatment for me but the waiting game is a very frustrating one.

I'm not moaning, no really, I just wanted to introduce myself.

  • Morning Sam a warm welcome to you, sorry to read the start of your journey. There are lots of amazing ladies on here who will help and advise you. They will help see you through it every step of the way. They did me and even after founding out after a lumpectomy it was benign I have stayed on here. Ask any questions and sure someone will have been where you are at some point asking the same question so will be able to help. Keep in touch

  • Hi Sam, and welcome to our little chat room ...

I had mastectomy last July, and I had a grade three her 2 neg.... there are a lot of us breast lasses on here .. all different stages and different treatments but all with the one goal ... kicking cancers butt ...

You are I'm my opinion at the scariest stage, waiting for everything to start ... it's the unknown, and everything has turned on it's head ... that's why you hear the word rollercoaster a lot ...it's like being strapped in and off we go, putting our lives in someone else's hands ...

Now saying all that ... there's a thread on here called good and bad started by sandra123 , and you can see how one lasses journey through breast cancer, where lots of us has joined in ..." cournishpastie " is younger like you, and she is an amazing ... we all chat about everything not just cancer ..

I look back to those scary first days were... and yes it's not a walk in the park, but you don't realise just how strong you are till you look back ... if you close your eyes and look back when your on that rollercoaster,  you'll see there's lots of us, sitting on there with you ... holding on tight, but together we can do it ... anything you want to ask, or have a rant, this is an amazing place to join ... we got that cancer scared of how we are facing it, looking it in the eye... and wer right there with you ...
