Hi, I am new to the forum but need a little advice.
My son now aged 27 was diagnosed with Stomach cancer on the 20th Feb 2012 aged 21.
Two weeks later he was put on a load of medication and he was also diagnosed with Crohns Disease as well.
We are not stupid but we are not medically trained either.
Long story short, my son was readmitted into the hospital for kidney failure at the end of February and on the 28th April 2018, he was told by the Consultant after talks and asking about his cancer, they replied saying he did not have cancer, even thou we have in hand the medical evidence to say he does and it was seen. We find out that treatment for Crohns and cancer in the same area is treated near enough the same (Stomach). Also, he would have been referred as stated in the diagnosis letter to a GI for cancer or Crohns. Whilst I am ecstatic of the diagnosis, why has it taken the hospital 6 years to tell us that my son is cancer free?
There are so many questions that need to be answered.
My son was NEVER told he does not have cancer? As far as he was concerned he had both diseases yet Crohn's was the most problematic of the two and the treatment is more or less the same.
Who do I go to to get answers?
Thanks In Advance
Jules
