i have had breast cancer and have finished my radiotherapy, and my oncologist has just offered me zoledronic acid, but having read the side effects i am having serious doubts, i have been absent from work for 5 months with one thing and another with my health and i really can not take the chance of taking this medication and having a side effect that will affect my work as they are not very understanding when having other problems after you return to work, does anyone know of anyone who has taken it or is taking it as i would love to hear what the effect is good or bad.

    Hi Susan,

    A very warm welcome to Cancer Chat. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 8 years, but know nothing about zoledronic acid. If you go to the blue banner at the top of this page and click the search button , then type in zoledronic acid, this will bring you to previous posts on the subject. There are 360 odd posts at present, so I hope that you find some of this helpful.

    I have had Tamoxifen and Letrozole and they brought their side-effects too. I think that it is difficult to find a treatment that doesn't.

    I do hope that you get back to work without any further hold ups.
