My lovely mum ❤︎

Mum was diagnosed last October with a bowel tumour, tumour was removed. Mum also has CLL leukaemia which was treated in 2013.

Last week we were told that the chemo didn't do any help whatsoever, the bowel cancer has spread  and her cll is very active again  They can't do anymore for her, mum's 73, was very active. Going through the motions of being given news like that. We will be having macmillan nurses coming in to her, we don't know yet the full extent of her palliative care atm, how long mum has left. I just don't know what to do tbh life is cruel xxx

    Hi Karen,

Yes, life can be very cruel indeed. I lost my own mum to breast cancer 20 years ago.She had it for 12 years but it metastasised in her final year and was in her brain, bones, liver and lungs. It was heart-breaking to watch her decline so quickly after that.

I know just how hard it is for you just now. We didn’t have MacMillan in, but I believe that they are very good. It is so difficult to accept that nothing further can be done to help her and, although you are so upset, do try and put a positive slant on things for your mum’s sake. So many people feel frustrated in that they cannot do enough for a loved one at this stage. Just by being with her you are helping her. I wish you the strength to get through this difficult time.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you whenever you want to talk.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
