Hi I've only joined this evening, my name is Irene, I had DCIS 19 Years ago, Ductal cancer treated by lumpectomy and Radiotherapy..  6 weeks ago I felt lump in the other breast  I have a different type of Cancer Tripple Negative Lobula Cancer, only 20% woman apparently have this type.  I'm having surgery 4th April 2018, I'm feeling quite positive, but I wonder why again in other breast and not the same type....  I have been tested for the Brac Gene and I'm not a carrier, although my Ban died from BC age 47

I was 50 first time round, then my sister age 62, and me again age 70.. so that' my story, I feel lucky that I'm such a strong positive woman,  I also understand why some woman go to pieces.. has anyone had Tripple Negative Lobula Cancer.. thanks

  • Hi there Irene... just wanted to pop in and say hi, and welcome ... I'm a grade 3 her2 lass ... not a triple negative like yourself ... but hopefully someone will pop in soon who is ... I had my mastectomy last July...

Being positive really helped me, although there's still the occasional down day ... but this is a great place to be, there's always someone to offer a shoulder to lean on ...and to share the better days too ...

So hold on in there ... you did it once, you can do it again ... take care Chrissie x

    Hi Irene,

I see that this is your first post on the forum so I extend a very warm welcome to Cancer Chat.

I am so sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with a different type of cancer this time and that it has come back to bite you again after so many years.

I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer. The first was 8 years ago when I had a lumpectomy and, the second the following year when I had a double mastectomy. I have mucinous cancer, like yours, a rare cancer, which affects only 1% of people. Fortunately, the second cancer was still a primary cancer.

Have you used the search facility on the blue banner at the top of this page? If you insert ‘triple negative lobular cancer’ in the box , this will bring up previous posts on the subject.

What surgery are you opting for this time – another lumpectomy or a mastectomy? I shall be thinking of you on 4th and hope that your operation goes well.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for both of you whenever you want to talk.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
