Scared for the future!

Iv'e been diagnosed with grade 3 idc breast cancer her2- er8 pr8, 10 out of 30 lymph nodes affected! I've had a left mastectomy and lymph node clearance and currently having chemo EC-T! Ct scan and mri clear! I' m terrified that the prognosis isnt good and are there others who are ok with a similar diagnosis that could make me feel more positive for the future? X

  • Hi beat-it

i don’t have the same as you but awaiting an op and lymph node check in op and radiotherapy. Mine is invasive stage one. I’m terrified that my days are numbered and that this nightmare will never end. I can only imagine how you must be feeling. My heart goes out to you. Please never lose hope. No matter what they say, lots more lives are being saved than lost now these days   Give yourself things to look forward to and treat yourself to the things you enjoy. Live everyday with kindness to yourself and reach out to others to support you. Keep us posted here on your progress. You are not alone. I have posted so much on here to others. It helps me with my own anxiety to comfort others. Blessings xx

  • Hello Beat-it.  And welcome.  There are lovely ladies who regularly post on this forum who have had treatment for breast cancer and are still going strong.  I am hopeful that one of them will come along and tell you of their experiences; I will ask someone to pop along and tell you their story.  Annie

    Hi Beat-it,

A very warm welcome to our forum. I love your 'nom de plume' - it sounds so positive.

I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer and had a double mastectomy 7 years ago. If you go up to the blue band at the top of this page and insert your cancer details in the search box you can bring up previous posts on this type of cancer.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you whenever you wish to talk.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Jolamine - thankyou so much for replying, wow going through this once is bad but twice I cant' imagine! It makes me wonder why I'm moaning! You seem a really strong lady and I know that's what I've got to be for my children so thankyou, it is an emotional rollercoaster but makes me feel better seeing people like you  inspires me to kick it's *** also! • Hi Chriss, thanks so much for replying it's lovely to hear from ladies in a similar position not that I'd wish this awful disease on anyone but it's good not to feel so isolated and alone on this journey! It is a real emotional rollercoaster and I will pick myself up and get thru this with all you other brave ladies and thankyou for the friend request, big hugs Deb x

  • Hi

do you mind me asking how you're getting on now? (Similar diagnoses and scared)

    thanks

  • Hi, sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis but just to make you feel a little more positive i want you to know that i will be 5 years clear in October this year and im feeling great and so will you! Stay positive and even though the treatments are tough you will get through them and kick this 'c' to the kerb! I finished my treatments and swapped from Tamoxifen to Letrozole due to being post menopausal after chemotherapy, i also requested bisphosphonate infusions to protect my bones and i signed up to a clinical trial (add aspirin) as the research team give you regular checks and keep a closer eye on you! Other than that i try and keep healthy and exercise and im getting on with my life, you will get there and if i can help in any way just get in touch, take care Debbie x
