Hi there knotty... sorry you find yourself on this cancer rollercoaster of ours ... I'm a breast cancer lady too ... my surgeon said he could do a lumpectomy on my grade 3 her 2 ... but if any was left , I'd have to have a full one later... so l just said, I'd rather he take the lot ... I didn't look at it as loosing a boob, but ridding my body of the lump. . But I'm 63 so it was an easy decision for me ...

Every hospital oncology team are different ... but if that is what you want , ask him ... I'm 8 months post mastectomy and it was the right decision for me ... and the op wasn't half as painfull as I'd thought .. most are home by next day .. though it is a tad tender under armpit where lymph nodes taken ...

There's a lot of us breast buddies on here ... all different stages and different treatments... so your not alone ...  your probably in shock at mo... I know l was at first ... but l think it's the thought of the unknown that scares us more ... any ways wer always here to listen, and believe me even the bravest of us has all those feelings ... and days when it feels overwhelming,  it's not a bad thing to admit your scared ... but you can do this ... you kick cancers butt right down the road ... and sending you a big hug ...
