Stomach Cancer

Any advice on Stomach Cancer

  • Hello Stevtins.  Welcome.  What advice are you seeking - if you can be a little more precise there are people who can help you.  Have you been diagnosed with stomach cancer?  If so can you provide any details.  Or are you perhaps worried that you may have the symptoms of stomach cancer?    Or has someone you care for been diagnosed?  We are always happy to help when we can and if you can tell us what kind of information/advice you are seeking there will be someone who can help you.  Best wishes.  Annie

  • Thanks Annie - I have secondary stomach cancer and will be starting EOX chemo in two weeks.

Would like to hear from anyone who has had or is having EOX chemo and what results they have had after chemo. I am having three cycles to start with along with chemo tablets. I have had five cancers in total but still feel relatively well and keep exercising regularly.

  • Gotcha!  I hope you will get a response from someone soon.  I had a quick look to see if there had been any previous information about EOX and stomach cancer and came across this one.  Please bear in mind that some of the people in the discussion had a Stage 4 cancer .  Best wishes for your treatment.  Annie

  • Hi Stevtins2,

I was on EOX for stage 4 cancer of the Oesophageal/gastric junction in late 2013/early 2014.

I had unusually good results and I'm still here to tell the story four years later!

Good luck with the chemo - take them seriously when they warn you about the risk of breathing in cold air or having cold drinks whilst on EOX :-)

    Cheers

    Dave

  • Thanks Dave

Busy week next week with appointments every day!

The problem I have is the mass I have on my fourth rib and that is what the EOX is trying to reduce and I’m starting with three cycles and although I know what to expect a little having had chemo twice before It is still nervewracking starting it but I do feel well so that is a good start.

Thanks for advice and will let you know how I get on.

    Steve

  • Hiya how’s the EOX going? X
  • Hi Dave

I have just been diagnosed with stomach cancer.  I had been feeling nauseous sor around 8 months.  Unfortunately it's stage  4.  I haven't seen an oncologist yet but I do know it's in the same place as yours and I also have secondary deposits on my small intestine.

I have no appetite and I'm losing weight quickly.

you have had a very good response to chemo.  Could you please tell me if you had weight loss and eating difficulties at the time of diagnosis and if so sis your appetite return.

    thanks

    Denise

  • My partner (who is 28) was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer in August. If you don't mind me asking Dave, was your cancer still visable after chemotherapy? Also even though it had shrunk, why was surgery not an option?
    thanks

  • Hi Dave,

I have been searching for someone who has also been diagnosed with stomach cancer. T4 n0 m 0. I was given this new 9th April 2021, I'm having third chemo 29th xon, then tablets for three weeks. I have another cat scan 9 the July to check its shrunk.

My appetite has returned I'm hoping that's a good sign

They are going to remove stomach as it's sitting in the centre of stomach.to be honest I'm just desperate to loose the stomach now
