Gallbladder Cancer Stage 4

Recently diagnosed with gallbladder cancer stage 4, I’ve had two major surgeries in 1wk already to remove gallbladder and it’s transfer site meant a complete hysterectomy.  Anxious but Terrified to hear results of PET scan identifying where else it’s spread to so far.  Then there is the bleak and daunting hit that there are very little options, no research being done on this type and basically just management of symptoms rather than finding cure.  Feeling in shock by such news of what only looks like a death sentence.

Anyone else have this this type of cancer that can maybe shed a tiny bit of hope?

  • Welcome to the forum Bbeggs18 although I'm sorry to hear you were recently diagnosed with gallbladder cancer.

I know you're hoping to hear from others so I just wanted to put you in touch with [@Diandal]‍ and [@Mia44]‍ who have experience of this diagnosis through with their loved ones and hopefully they will pop by when they can to say hello and offer their support.

Our cancer nurses are just a phone call away if you would like to chat to someone about this as well. Their telephone number is 0808 800 4040 and are available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Do let us know what happens when you get your results - we'll have our fingers crossed that it hasn't spread too far.

    Kind regards,
