Any teens?

Hi,

I got diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma a few months ago and ,thus far, it's been going well. I've been feeling sorry for myself, but read books like The fault in our stars and came to the realization that there are others that have it somewhat worse, and I want to reach out to those. I was also wondering if there were any other teens with cancer on this site. I know, it's a rarity, but you do get lonely after a while. Your friends don't really understand what it feels like. This cancer doesn't only affect your body, it also devours you mentally.

  • Hi Crispy, and a very warm welcome to Cancer Chat!

I spotted Chriss had mentioned riprap - which is a fantastic charity, but it's primarily for teens whose parents have cancer - so I wanted to stop by to offer a couple of other links.

The charity CLIC Sargent has an online community that's aimed at 16 to 24 year olds who have or have had cancer, and is a great place to give and receive support.

The Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) also has some good information about Hodgkin Lymphoma, which may be helpful to you.

And finally, The Mix offers support to under 25s, and has an active online forum

I do hope that you're able to get chatting to others soon and, as Chriss says, you're very welcome to continue to share your thoughts here too.

    Best wishes,

    Helen
