Just starting

hello everyone, just been diagnosed with HER2+ pos and awaiting my first chemo. Hopeful and determined, and will be interested in reading how everyone is doing.

  • Just anted to say hi and welcome to our lil chat rooms . I’m a grade 3 her 2 ...  it’s a good sign to be hopeful and have a positive outlook... though there will be up and down days, but wer all here for both ... this cancer wants to beat us all down and feel hopeless but we won’t let it ... theres a lot on here that no mater what it does, we’ll kick its backside all the way down the road ... I know being positive has really seen me through, even my total mastectomy was daunting, it went so much better .. and 3months down the road still feel like the old me ... with my sense of humour still intact .. but saying that I’m 63 and if it had been 20 years ago, I’m sure I wouldn’t have taken things this way ...

so fingers crossed your cemo goes as well as it can ... you can always write your thoughts on here as you go ... and it will help others too ... so sending you positive thoughts ... Chrisie xx

  • Thanks so much for your encouraging reply - it is a scary prospect for us all, not to know what lies ahead. Good to hear from someone further along the process. Xxx
  • Hi Rosiem

I'm in a similar position in that I'm newly diagnosed as well. I've got primary mediastinal large b cell lymphoma which they say is treatable so I'm feeling positive too. I've got a pet CT scan to have before I start chemotherapy but I know that is the next step. Would be nice to hear how you get on let's beat this together.
