New and anxious.

Hello, I'm Lea! Born in England, living in Canada.

Last summer I had surgery for stage III breast cancer, then chemo and radiation. Those treatments ended in February of this year. For a brief time after treatment ended, I was doing okay mentally. But gradually a terrible anxiety and depression crept in, and last week my psychiatrist diagnosed me with PTSD.

I'm slightly relieved at the diagnosis... at least I know these feelings are "something". And I was glad to find this forum. It's informative and feels safe and supportive. I'm looking forward to reading posts and participating in the community.
Thank you for having me.

  • I just wanted to stop by and give you a warm welcome to Cancer Chat, Lea, although I'm sorry to hear about the reasons that bring you here.

This must be a difficult time for you so I'm glad you found us and that our forum is helping you a little by offering support and as a source of information.

We have many members here who have been in a similar situation and I hope that very soon some of them will stop by to share their experiences with you. Until then, feel free to post as much as you need, there is always someone here to listen.

    Wishing you the very best,

    Renata, Cancer Chat Moderator
