Had non functioning kidney out 6 weeks ago as turned septic. Found out today it was cancerous and I'll need chemo as in urinary tract. I'm 48. Anyone had this diagnosis also?
Welcome to Cancer Chat. I am sorry to hear about your recent surgery and the reason for it. Unfortunately, I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer and do not know much about your type of cancer. However, I thought that I would tell you how to contact more people with the same problem as yourself.
If you go up to the search facility on the blue bar at the top of this page and enter your key words, this will bring up previous posts from others who may also have had a kidney removed or had a diagnosis of cancer in that area. This might signpost you to people who are going through the same experience as yourself and will give you some names to contact.
Have you been given the staging of your cancer yet and, have you discussed what type of chemo or how long you'll have it for and when it is to start?
