Hi please need some reassurance

i am new to the forum.

My husband, aged 54, has been having bouts of blacking out and shortness of breath for approxn18 months. Finally got him to go to docs where he was sent for a chest X-ray.

The xray came back as showing a shadow shadow on his lung so he was immediately referred for a ct scan which he had today and a blood test which was last week

Today we also received a letter letter with an appointment for him to go to see a consultant at the local hospitals Macmillan centre.

Does ra this mean they knownornsuspect he has cancer? I am terrified

  • It's a really scary time for you. I'm not a medic so can't really say much, but know how agonizing it is to wait for results. All I can say is that if it does turn out to be bad news, it is not necessarily the end of the world. Even lung cancer, if caught in the early stages, can be cured. But the next few days, while you wait, will be absolute hell and, having gone through it myself,  I really feel for you. x Harry.

    Hi Embrit,

I am so sorry to hear about your husband’s predicament. Harry is quite right - waiting for results is a scary time. Somehow or other, we always seem to think the worst, which, fortunately, is seldom the case.

You should get a full diagnosis soon and, regardless of whether good or bad news, you will probably begin to feel a little more positive as he progresses with his treatment.

I do hope that you get the results soon and can move forward.

Please keep in touch and let us know his results.

Thinking of and praying of a good outcome for you both.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
