Another Goiter?

In 2000 I had  three goiters and  my thyroid removed. The biopsy showed they were benign. Now at 54 I have another large lump in my neck in the same place. I'm concerned. I see the GP on Tuesday , and she will  make a referral to an oncologist or endocrinologist -I don't know which.  Along with the lump I have been exhausted for a few months and have a sore throat and have trouble swallowing food.  I just pray it's nothing in that they can remove the goiter...if needed.

    Hi Riverfox,

    Welcome to Cancer Chat.

I am sorry to hear that you have another lump in your neck, but I am glad to hear that you are seeing your GP on Tuesday. I am sure that if she suspects that there is anything amiss then she will refer you on - oncologist or endocrinologist will depend upon which she thinks will be best for you. If your lump is a large one, then it may be obstructing the passage for your food to go down. The exhaustion could be due to the return of your cancer, but it could also just be due to the pace at which we live our lives nowadays.

Please keep us in the loop. There is always someone here for you whenever you feel like talking.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine
