tongue cancer

I would be interested in talking to someone who has recently recovered from tongue cancer, I had tongue cancer in 2015 which was removed with surgery and a free flap taken from my wrist to replace part of my tongue, a neck dessection and 6 weeks radiotherapy but still finding it difficult to talk and eat as they removed my teeth during the op any advice would be welcome.

    Hi Iris,

    Welcome to Cancer Chat. i am afraid that I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 7 years, but I have little knowledge of tongue cancer. It sounds as if you have been having a tough time in the last couple of years. I am sure that you will find it helpful to speak to others with first-hand experience of this type of cancer.

    If you use the search engine from the left hand side of the blue band at the top of this page and insert 'tongue cancer' into the box, this should bring up previous posts on this topic. I hope that you can find some answers here and I am sure that someone with experience of this will come along to chat with you soon.
