What a journey

So happy to have found this forum! I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May. I live mostly alone as my kids are older & it's been scary to face so much of this with just my own thoughts. I am lucky enough to have amazing friends who have been utterly brilliant. But it's looking to be a long process now, with more drastic treatment than was thought necessary at first. In one of my lowest moments  so far I started a blog - partly as a record for myself of the process & my thoughts, but also as a way of hopefully answering questions that others might have who are going through something similar.

Hi Turbolib and welcome to Cancer Chat,

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis and that you are living alone. We all need someone to lean on at times like this, so it is good to hear that you have supportive friends. You will find this forum useful when you don’t want to burden your friends with the ins and outs of this horrible disease.

What surgery and treatment did you have and what about staging? I have had two bouts of primary breast cancer. The first was 7 years ago, when I had a lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy. The second was a year later, when I had a double mastectomy.

It is a good idea to write a blog, as it’s amazing what we forget with the passage of time. Do please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. There is always someone here to talk to whenever you feel the need.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
