Tnbc & inflammatory breast cancer

I was diagnosed with Triple neg breast cancer in Dec 16. Initially told caught early small lump and no spread operation and second tissue shave revealed spread. I then developed discolouration of breast and horrific pain hospital kept insisting infection despite my concerns that it was inflammatory breast cancer. After demanding biopsies it was confirmed I had inflammatory breast cancer as well. I have no faith in my doctors and cannot wait till chemo ends and I have minimal contact with them

  • Oh how upsetting for you... It's funny how we know our own bodies and it turns out right .... I'm so sorry they didn't listen to you but there are good nursing staff as well so please don't think they are all like that ... I hope it is getting sorted now and thinking of you ... Just keep looking for the ones that do listen ...big hug xx

  • I have the utmost respect for my nurses their knowledge of my condition is spot on and their care is second to none but when it comes to doctors and consultants it's as if as a lay person I know nothing and they are always right. They make decisions about my treatment without my input consultation and truthfully I have absolutely no time for them. I appreciate that they deal with the most heartbreaking cases but there is no empathy understanding of how I feel or my how my family feel and I have decided once chemo completed I will ask for a transfer to another hospital
