Chemo for breast cancer

Hi new on here but wanted to know how bad can chemo effect your everyday living & coping with a young family

thank you

  • Hi Bevstret, I had 6 months of chemo for rectal cancer. At first, I was washed out and sick, but I was soon put on a dose of steroids for first few days of each chemo session and during this time felt like I could have climbed Everest. Then afterwards I would feel more tired again till the next session. I coped with 3 young children all this time. It was not easy but we got through it somehow. The steroids were a big help. You need to watch your weight a bit though. I had to conserve my energy and prioritise what was important to do, the rest had to wait. This was my experience, hope it is some help X
  • Thank you supatrooper

it means so much, I knew when I asked no one really knows how they will feel, suppose I see pictures of really poorly people whilst other pictures show smiling faces wearing chemo hats,

you must have been great looking after 3 children. I have a 7 yr old & no family around, but sure she will keep me going
