hi

Hi all my name is denise, i am 62 years of age and was diagnosed in 2014, after a long year of misdiagnoses, ranging from depression, gall stones and believe it or not dementia, it turned out i had a grade 2 front lobal brain tumour, i was told by my lovely oncologist nurse, that it was a good one to have, but unfortunately i aready knew that as i lost a sister who died at the age of 31 with a brain tumour, but hers was the aggresive one and inoperable, so yes she was right, i did have a good one, seems strange saying that,as other guest have said theres no good cancer, but i believe that unlike my sister, i was lucky, because after the initial radiotherapy, and a brain operation to remove as much of the tumour as possible, i can lead anormal life up to a point, she never got that chance, i still have regular scans, and checkups, and touchwood it has stabilised what is left of it, unfortunately they couldnt remove it all as it had attached itself to my vital organs and too dangerous to remove, the biggest problem i have is the possibility of having fits or siezures, which is quite scary and has taken all my confidence away, i do take medication for this and thats where the problems begin, they cause lethargy, upset stomach, mouth infections, so i allways say its not the tumour thats the problem, its the medication, lol, i look forward to future chats, god bless all x

  • Hello Denise,

I felt I wanted to respond to your post and say how brave you sound .It must be incredibly difficult to cope with the situation you have . It is commendable that you are able to remain reasonably upbeat and live as normal life as possible. I am 5years post rectal cancer and have found a positive mental attitude has massively helped me. I wish you continued improvement if possible, and that you are able to experience happy times and peace each day x.

  • Thankyou, best wishes to you too, x
