New Here

Well I have put myself on the spot now, this being my first time here I am guessing everyone has had a run in with cancer in one way or another. My treatment ended about four moths ago and my diagnosis was squamous cell carcinoma in the neck. I must say it has been challenging. I think ultimately it would be nice for me to talk and maybe help others who are or might be embarking on this challenge. So please if anyone out there wants to talk to me then please get in touch.

    Hi Monk,

Welcome to the forum that no one wants to join.Yes, most of us here either have cancer ourselves or have a loved one who has, although we also have moderators to ensure that the site is kept fit for purpose and some nurses to give us the benefit of their medical knowledge when needed.

Treatment is indeed challenging and I am glad to hear that you have finished yours. I am afraid that I know very little about Squamous cell carcinoma. I have had two bouts of primary breast cancer, which was first diagnosed in 2011. I had a lumpectomy to start with and a double mastectomy the second time.

I am sure that people who have first-hand experience of your type of cancer will come along soon. You will find that you get a lot of support from others on the site who really know what you are going through, but you will also get solace from helping others as you have so kindly offered to do.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine
