Recently diagnosed

Hello, I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 months ago and recently had my tumours removed, along with part of my breast. I am now waiting on the outcome of pathology results from tissue samples, tumours and lymph nodes. It all seems to be surreal at the moment. I have 2 sons who both lived abroad and I live on my own. I had not realised just how much I would feel so alone, depressed etc even though I am aware of the great support that is out there from professional breast care nurses to the Big C centre.  Did anyone, or does anyone, feel the same way regarding feeling alone?

  • Hi I was diagnosed with breast cancer just over 2 months ago and too am finding a very lonely place. I am 30 years old have a young family but no parents or in laws close by so know very much how you feel about being lonely. we moved to where we are now last year to start a better quality of life. My mum has been once to visit but to be honest my mum seems very unphased hasnt got upset by my diagnosis and just tells me to get on with my treatment. I have gone from working full time to being on my own each day.I myself am having chemo first then surgery.
