Newbie to the forum

Hi all

My beautiful man was diagnosed with SCC of the tongue at the beginning of March. Had partial glossectomy with radial forearm flap and 59 lymph nodes removed.

Just joined as there doesn't seem to be many people in the UK that have had this cancer, so trying to find people that have had the surgery and the treatment has been quite difficult.  I've seen a few members here have come through the other side after having it so would love to find out more as all you can find on the net are negative things and I'm fed up with those.

Thanks

Jay

  • Hi there jay and welcome to the forum

your poor hubby has been through it and by the sounds of it still has a way to go

firstly a pice of advice, it might be worth setting up another post seeking people that have has a partial glossectomy , set this up in your title then people can relate straight to it and in that way you will get to talk to the right people who have not only been through similar but can help with any question you have

i myself and now 2.5 years out from toungue cancer, I had 30 sessions of Tomotherapy and 6 8 hour chemo sessions .... and I am now doing week.... but I had no operations to deal with

however during my treatment I spoke to and have now met some wonderful people with like cancers

one of them Nicola had similar to what your hubby had so it might be worth just giving her a nudge. She is very helpful and for what she has been through is an inspiration to us all

    her post is here

shout if you have any questions there is always someone on here

let us know how you and hubby get on

    vatch
