new for forum

I am caring for my 35 year old daughter which is breaking me heart, her breat cancer has now gone to her brain, bones and just to hard to cope with today, so guess I can have a bad day.  First day I have been home as we seem to have been going to hospitals since end of March or seeing friends etc and seem to not have a plan for today until I take my grandaughter swimming late afternoon.

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Janni.

I can't begin to imagine how tough this situation must be for you but I'm glad you've joined the forum as there are many members here who are, and have been, carers for their family members and hopefully some of them will post soon to offer their support and advice.

Is there anyone, maybe family or friends, who could help you look after your daughter every now and then? Even for a few hours just so you can have some time for yourself? Many members here have mentioned how important it is to make sure you have some 'me' time so you can recuperate and stay strong to look after your daughter. I'm not sure what your situation is exactly but I have included some information from our website about getting help at home just in case you want to have a look.

I hope you had a nice afternoon swimming with your granddaughter Janni and that you soon start to feel more positive again.

    Kind Regards,
