Hello From Pittsburgh Pennsylvania

I am new here as my husband has been diagnosed with cancer in Feb.  It is colon cancer of the liver. He has started chemo.  He Is trying to protect me by requesting that I don't go to the dr appointment or treatments.  I get second hand information but only after I ask a million questions that he can't answer.  It is so frustrating for me because I want to help in any way I can.  If anyone can suggest things I would greatly appreciate it.

thanks Vivienne

  • Hi Vivienne,

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis and the frustrating situation you find yourself in as a result.

Have you been able to sit down with him and tell him how you feel, explaining how much stress and worry his actions are causing by not allowing you to be involved? Hopefully this will make him aware of the negative impact it is having and let you in more.

I know a few members have been in similar situations to yourself and I'm sure some of them will post soon to share their advice and experiences with you. Do also have a look around and join in on previous discussions that are similar to yours as our members are very supportive and will do all that they can to help. To do this just use the 'search forum' option above.

I hope your husband opens up to you more soon Vivienne so you can face this diagnosis together.

    Kind Regards,
