Hello!

Hi everyone,

This is a forum I never wanted to join and I'm sure all of you feel the same. My long term boyfriend has been diagnosed with mediastinal germ cell tumour. Does anyone have any experience of this? We are in the early stages but as it's so rare don't really know where to turn!

The docs are giving the worst possible scenario as they have to these days which is making it hard for everyone to stay positive.

Any help greatly appreciated xx

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat babamoosheep.

I’m sorry to hear your boyfriend was diagnosed with mediastinal germ cell tumour, it must be a difficult time for you both. Receiving the news, the shock that follows, what comes next… it all seems like a blur, doesn’t it? I’m sure a lot of people here with loved ones affected by cancer will understand your situation and how you are feeling so I hope they will soon pop by to offer their support and advice.

Meanwhile, there is this link I want to share with you with information on mediastinal germ cell tumour: www.cancerresearchuk.org/.../mediastinal-germ-cell-tumours and I hope this will help to shed some light on questions you might have.

As you go along, please keep us posted, we'll be thinking of you.

Best wishes to both you and your boyfriend,

    Renata, Cancer Chat Moderator
