Im a newbie

Hello Everyone

My name is Mary.

I have a very rare brain tumour called a medulloblastoma. Its a child's tumour, its very rare in adults.

My world was turned upside down last July 2016 when I had surgery to remove the tumour, not all of it could be removed, a week later I got the devastating news that it was cancer.

I have had 35 days of radiotherapy on me brain and spine. I am halfway through chemotherapy have 3 more cycles to go.

I get me mri scan results in the morning. Feeling nervous please god say that I am all clear still.

I am a bag of different emotions,  cancer can be so lonely and its so hard putting on a brave face all the time with everyone saying stay strong and be positive.

How are you all doing?

Anyways thats me and I am glad to be part of this forum so we can share with each other and understand one another.

  • Hello Mary,

Welcome to the Cancer Chat forum and thank you for sharing your story with us.

How did you get on with your appointment yesterday? I hope that you recieved some positive news from your scan.

You're right in saying that cancer is such a mixed bag of emotions. It's frequently likened to a rollercoaster by people who post in the community. Please don't feel that you have to put on a brave face here. This is a safe environment where you can rant and rave or cry or laugh or express whatever it is that you need to without needing to worry about being strong or positive for those around you.

Pop by and let us know how you got on when you are able to Mary.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
