3.19am wide awake

Hello everyone, I lost my amazing Mum to cancer November 2016 leaving our family devastated by her loss 12 days before her 70th Birthday. Today would have been Mum and Dad's 49th Wedding Anniversary. She battled on and off for 4 years and had a very bumpy landing, in and out of 3 hospitals for almost 3 months then a hospice for her last 10 days. I was with her (together with my husband, brother and sister in law) when she passed. I am so glad we did this as traumatic as it was. Sadly Dad was diagnosed Cancer towards the end of Mums life and following treatment was told at the start of this year it is terminal which was hard to take just weeks after losing Mum. He is well for now so we are making the most of it. A very hard time but we know so many people are going through this all the time which is very sad. I hope I can help to support some of you at a very difficult time in anyway I can.

  • Hello Tracey,

Thank you for sharing your story with us here at Cancer Chat. I'm so sorry to read about your Mum's passing and your Dad's subsequent diagnosis. It's understandable that this is really difficult time for you now.

It's good to hear that Dad is well at the moment and hopefully this means that you are able to spend time together enjoying each other's company and doing the things that you like to do.

Thank you for offering your support to other members here Tracey. I know that sharing words of support and advice is greatly appreciated.

Do let us know how you are all doing and I hope that the sleeplessness improves!

    Best wishes,
