Howdy y'all

Howdy y'all!  I'm a 41 year old Acute Cancer Nurse

Specialist in the NHS. Im also the proud Mom of 2

teens (aged 12 and 15) and carer for my elderly

mother. 2 momths ago, after 6 months of increasing pain and severe changes to my bowel, i was diagnosedwith Metastatic Bowel Cancer. Unfortunately my cancer has already spread to lymph nodes and bones throughout my body. I've started palliative chemotherapy on my own cancer unit where I've worked for the last 6 years. I've also had 2 fractions of radiotherapy to my spine & sternum for pain control. My head and heart are still spinning and trying to get to grips with my terminal diagnosis. On a happy note My partner and I have decided to get married sooner rather than later in light of my diagnosis and we have declared we will be celebrating our anniversaries in dog years! I'm really grateful to find this forum to give & receive support xxx

  • Hello, I myself do not have cancer, I am the mother of a son who suffered from cancer. I think from the tone of your post that you must have an upbeat outlook. I hope that you have the best of days on your wedding and there are so many people on this site who will be able to offer good advice. lesliexx
