Diagnosed 3 days ago. I'm terrified. Going to have surgery asap to remove lower lobe right lung. It's confined so no spread. Dr says I've to think positive.

Hi Bill,
I just wanted to pop by and welcome you to the forum although I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis and for the reason it brings you here.
It's great that there has been no spread but it's understandable and completely natural to be feeling scared before your operation. Many members here who have also had lung cancer will understand how you're feeling at the moment and hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer their support and share their experiences with you. You can also find other member's discussions about lung cancer by using the 'search forum' option above.
Do you have a date for your surgery? I hope you don't have to wait too long and it goes well when the time comes. Do let us know how you get on and we'll be sending positive thoughts your way.
Kind Regards,
Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
I'm sorry to see why you are here, but so delighted for you that it hasn't spread and its treatable. This is really something to be positive about. IT must be really hard to be positive with what you are facing and very scary. I've seen a few people who have had this surgery and done really well. Once you come out the other side I'm sure you will then feel very lucky and positive. How did they find the cancer? ( if you don't mind me asking)? Wishing you all the best for surgery.
