How do I remain positive...

After today's confirmation the treatment will be radiochemo therapy. But because of my underlying conditions it present problems which seems to delay or prevent the starting of the treatment. Could someone find out who cursed me in my past lives....

  • Hi Brevo

sorry that you have like most people on this forum have the diagnosis that we all dread. However you have come to the right place for support and answers to your many questions. Im sure everything seems desperate at the moment but once you have a plan for treatment from your oncologist you will probarbly feel more in control of the situation. Its ok to feel angry, upset , despondent and cry - its normal and human nature so dont beat yourself up about it.

My husband was diagnosed with head and neck cancer in December 2015 and following Chemoradiation and surgery is now in remission.

    Wishing you all the best

  • Thanks Emma The final diagnosis means I have to have my teeth removed and then after the swelling has gone down the mask being made and then the radiation. with maybe chemo added. Between all this I have to have a defibrillator and pacemaker fitted to regulate my heart. Chemo would effect my heart condition so I feel I'm in for a rocky time. But knowing there are others who have survived this helps in being able to express my reservations. Thank You
  • Hi Brevo

glad that knowing there are people out there who have been through this helos. My hubby had to have 4 teeth out - he was lucky - but I have to say we we'rent expecting it so it came as a shock. He had 30 fractions of VMAT radiotgerapy and 5 cycles of cistplatin chemo over 6 weeks which was tough but we got through it. Unfortunately it didnt clear tge tumour in his neck so he had to gave a neck dissection 12 weeks after finishing the treatment but hes recovering well. If you gave any questions re the treatment then please feel free to fruend request me and we. Can chat.

    best wishes and good luck

    Emma
