I have been of sick since 28th December recovering from 3 major opperations, i am a self employed person who stands to loose her buissiness , im not earning any money while im sick,can anybody tell me what im entitled to while not working ,and the best way to get benifit claims through before i lose my home and starve to death please

    Sorry you are in this situation, unfortunately it is and always has been difficult for self employed people,

    I am not able to offer any guidance with regards claims, but I do suggest you call or go into your local Citizens advice Bureau.they can offer advice and will help you all they can.... The last thing you need after 3 major opps is more stress.

    Hi,

    You should be entitled to PPI which isn't means tested, so won't be taken away once you start working again - unless you make a full recovery.

    MacMillan have an arrangement with DWP which enables many people with cancer to be fast tracked through the system. MacMillan may have a benefits advisor in your area - just check on their website. CAB are good too but MacMillan specialise in benefits for cancer patients.
