Recently Diagnosed

Hello to everyone.

I had a routine 3 year mamogram which found a problem in the left breast so had to undergo needle biopsies.  The results showed Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (DCIS) which is 0 grade and non invasive at this time.  The roller coaster since then has been meeting the Surgeon and the Breast Care team, and I am now waiting for the Surgeon to give a date for the Skin Sparing Masectomoy and reconstruction.

I lost a sister 19 years ago to breast cancer she was 42 years old and left a teenage son when she passed, and I was with her all the way through her treatment so i do understand all about process and support.  I hope everyone is getting the right support from family and friends through difficult times, and remember to share your pain so you can get the support you need.  Peace and blessings to anyone going through Cancer.

And if you have any questions about your treatment, our team of cancer nurses are available to talk on (freephone) 0808 800 4040 - Mon to Fri, 9am to 5pm.
