Hello Ann,
Welcome to the forum.
Just wanted to post and wish you all the best for your surgery on Wednesday. Hopefully once this stage of treatment is over you will have some clearer information about things.
Please do let us know how you are once you are home and recovered enough to post.
Sending you our best wishes,

Hi Jennifer, sorry I haven't been in touch before now. Had a mastectomy on (rt) side. Still can't find a lot about breast cancer spread to skin. Although the wound has healed v underneath has a large solid mass, sometimes is painful. The breast care nurse says just leave and it should dissipate. I'm returning to work 3rd July, still a bit tired though, so hope it goes well. they told me the tumour was 14cm - never picked up as it's occult! I may have other breast off next year - but it's just a waiting game. Could you advise where I may be able to pick up some info?
regards

Hi Anna,
I'm glad to hear that you've come through surgery and that you're healing and recovering slowly.
I really hope that your return to work next month goes smoothly - don't over do it! :-)
I've emailed our nurse team and asked if they could reply to you with some helpful links and/or information so please do bear with them as it will take a few days for them to reply.
Sending our best wishes,

Thankyou that's brilliant xxx
Hello Ann,
I am one of the information nurses, Jenn our moderator asked us if there was anything we could post on your thread.
It isn't all that common for breast cancer to spread to the skin which is may be why there isn't very much patient information about it. Also breast cancer can spread to the skin in different ways so each situation will be rather different. For example sometimes after treatment breast cancer can come back in the skin, but sometimes a breast cancer that has spread to the skin can be the first sign of the disease. And the skin cancer can be localised in small nodules around the breast or be more widespread.
A UK charity, Breast Cancer Care has some general information about skin metastases, but I don’t know if this will match your situation, so it might not be useful. If you want to have a read follow this link.
The best source of information is always your own specialist team so do talk things over with them, especially the breast care nurse.
If you want to get back to us with a particular question please do. You can call us on 0808 800 4040 (Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm) or contact us on line.
I hope your energy levels improve over the next few weeks.
Take care,
Julia
