Newbie

I was diagnosed with breast cancer last January had 6 months chemo followed by a lumpectomy end of July and ending with 15 days of radiotherapy in September. I have just had my 1st mammogram which was all clear.  I remained very positive throughout treatment but it's only now where I am having breakdowns and thinking about what I have been through. I've been told to have counselling.  Does anyone else feel the same way or have any tips?

  • Welcome to the forum Bluedolph.

I'm so pleased to hear that your first mammogram has come back clear since having your treatment for breast cancer last year. It's also great that you remained positive throughout this experience although I'm sorry to hear you're struggling now that everything has finished. Having been through so much it's understandable why this may be happening but I just wanted to let you that you are not alone. Many members here have been in a similar situation after finishing their treatments and hopefully they will pop by soon to offer their support and advice. In the meantime I have found some information about coping emotionally with cancer on our website which includes a section on counselling that may help at this time.

Post as much as you need to Bluedolph and remember that someone will always be here to help.

    Kind Regards,
