New today to the forum

Hi my name is Avril I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer September 2015, I had my masectomy in the November, I completed my chemo Easter weekend last year. I am now looking forward to my reconstruction hopefully sometime this year but have other medical issues to be dealt with before I have this. I have always been very active and have found exercise to be a great help in getting myself mind and body in being able to deal with this. I play golf, do a bit of coastal path walking also yoga, I am very lucky with the support I have had from friends and family but am looking forward to talking to others who have similar experience to myself. x x

  • Welcome to the forum Avril and thank you for sharing your story with us.

I'm really glad to hear that your treatment for breast cancer has been successful and that reconstruction isn't too far away. It's also great that you've found exercise as well as family and friends to be a really good source of strength and support in helping you through this difficult time in your life but it's also nice to chat to others who have been in the same or similar situation as they will really understand your thoughts and feelings during your cancer journey.

I know there are quite a few members on the forum who have had experience of breast cancer and hopefully some of them will pop by soon to say hello and share their experiences with you.

Good luck with your reconstructive surgery when the time comes Avril and do come back let us how it goes.

    All the best,
