Hi all,
I started radiotherapy on Monday of last week and have found all the staff brilliant and very kind.
I have an hours journey to the hospital then of course an hour back home and rely on either my son, grandson or friends for a lift. Normally if they are running late in the radiotherapy unit they put a notice on the wall and then at least you know what to expect.
Today I had a late afternoon appointment and another man just in front of me asked how late they were running with appointments and didn't really get an answer apart from he'd be seen when they were free. They then brought someone up from the wards, and I then asked them myself how long would I be because my grandson had got a 2 hour drive home. A nurse then came out of the office shouting at me in an abusive manner making me feel quite humiliated in front of all the patients. I'd not had a very good day healthwise, I'm petrified of travelling and felt like crying. I've got to go back tomorrow and every day next week then my treatment ends.
Do I say anything about this experience tomorrow or should I just forget it? There are 3 staff in the radiotherapy room and they all usually wait until I'm off the bed/machine but today they all left me to get up and get off the machine on my own which I struggle to do as I'm 70 yrs old.
Thanks in advance for replies xx
