Hi all, I am new to this and I feel very sad after reading what people are going through. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014 and am in remission. Since being ill I am not the same person I was before, everything about me has changed and my confidence has hit rock bottom. I lost my dad to cancer in 2015 which made things much worse.

  • Hi Ellie,

I am sorry to hear you are feeling low. I understand, I have bouts with depression and generally feeling hopeless. I am 4 year cervical cancer survivor and I am grateful for that. But, I know it will always be a fear in the back of my mind. Having said that, the up side is I've learned some coping practices, one of which is posting on this website. Exercise, prayer and trying to always look outward (instead of inward) also help. I hope you feel better soon.

  • Hi Laura,

So very sorrry about your illness. You are so right when you say we should look ourtward instead of inward and it's easy to forget that there are others who have life so much worse than ourselves. It's good to have this forum to speak to other people, that really helps and I wish I'd found this longer ago. I thought I may try Yoga as my friend who had a tumour (although non-malignant) said it really helped her to cope with the Radiotherapy. I've also signed up to do some fundraising for Cancer Research.
