Hi everyone

Would just like to say hi, I lost my mum to cancer as a child and my dad 5 years ago. My ex has just told me he has been diagnosed with leukaemia and also 'spots' on both his liver and kidneys. I dont know what these spots are but they have been diagnosed by blood tests not mri scan.He  says its a rare form of cancer with no treatment and he has less than 3 years to live. I am devastated as are my children. I am literally in pieces.  Surely there is treatment if he has 3 years left??

  • Welcome to the forum Julia,

I'm sorry to hear about the impact that cancer has had and is still having on your life. Would it be possible for you to get some more information from your ex about his diagnosis so you can understand what the spots on his liver and kidneys are? Also his medical team are the only ones who will know about the options available to your ex so if your ex is willing maybe you could go with him to his next appointment and ask them about treatment? Also, if you would like to talk this through with someone in more detail do give our cancer nurses a call. You can chat to them for free on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5pm.

Best wishes to you all at this difficult time,
