Colon adenocarcinoma - treatment is same all over Europe?

im wondering is there any "gulf" between western countries and eastern in treatment carcinoma? -just because they are "west" (rich) and east (poor)? - teorethical question.

radiotherapy doest work in this case cells are ressistant (they produces "lakes of mucous")

they dosed gemcitabine for patient at first shot. this medicine has been patented at 80. there is no new medicines since that?

doctor said patient have very rarely type of cancer and its no point to dose it again since it damages more healthy cells than bad one

regards

  • Welcome to the forum testowy.

As Cancer Chat is a UK support forum for people affected by cancer we can't answer all your questions here but we have some information about statistics on our website which may help answer a few of them as well as some general information about bowel cancer I thought you may be interested in as well.

    I hope this helps.

    All the best,

  • Sadly the answer, in my personal opinion, is that wherever you live in the World the richer you are the more likely you are to have the best treatment money can buy.

The UK has a great free National Health Service paid for through taxation but only drugs and treatments judged to be cost effective are routinely approved. There is a long-running battle between the government and big drugs companies over the cost of drugs especially new ones.

The situation is better here than in countries like the USA where healthcare is funded privately or through insurance but certain types of chemo and new procedures such as cyberknife ablation of secondaries are still only available privately.

    Best wishes
