Introducing myself

Hi

I am Janice and I have joined this forum as my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in August 2015. She has had one course of chemotherapy treatment which made her very ill and she lost all of her hair and the scan after the treatment didn't show much improvement. It was decided to not continue with the chemo as my mum didn't really have any symptoms from the cancer itself and the side effects to the chemo were greater. But most recently she has started bleeding fresh blood almost like a period.  Because of this she has another ct scan booked for 4th January and her oncologist is due to see her on 24th January.  Obviously my mum is very worried and I wondered if anyone else on here has had similar symptoms.

  • Welcome to the forum Janice.

I'm sorry to hear your mum was diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer last year and that bleeding has occurred recently but it's good she's been booked in for a scan next week and we'll have our fingers crossed it finds the cause. It's understandable why your mum may be worried and hopefully other members who have been in the same or similar situation will post soon to offer their support and share their experiences with you.

I'm not sure if you've had the chance to explore the forum yet but if you haven't you can look around and find previous discussions about this by typing keywords in to the 'search forum' option above.

Do come back and let us know what happens with the ct scan Janice, we'll be thinking of you.

    Kind Regards,
