Mum has recently been diagnosed with high grade serous carcinoma of the lining of the womb. Waiting for MRI results and has first appointment at cancer hospital in a couple of days. Has anyone on here had any experience of this type of cancer?
Hi Debbie, sorry to hear about your mum, I hope you and her are holding up. I was diagnosed with grade 2 endometrial cancer on the 2nd Nov. I'm having a total hysterectomy on the 24th and removal of my ovary/fallopian tube, after this they will stage my cancer and I'll find out if I'll need chemo etc.
I'm afraid I'm just at the beginning of my journey so I can't really be much help but I just wanted to say hi and hope everything goes as well as it possibly can. There are a few people on here with this type of cancer, if you type it in the search then they might be in a better position to answer your questions.
tank you for your reply, it's just such an isolating experience and mum is a very private person but I know she is going through absolute turmoil.
im hoping they do her hysterectomy very soon too, from what you've said it seems that's exactly what they will do with mum as this was what we were told last tuesday.
i hope everything goes well for you too. It's a scary journey but this forum is already re assuring me.
