Hi,
I am new to this but just wanted to share some info about the new drug Palbociclib. I was diagnosed in 2009 initially, diagnosed with it then again in 2011, breast cancer had spread to my liver, spine and Skull. Been on permanent chemo since January 2012, with only a 6week break. I am continuing to defy all the odds and keep making it to the next treatment. I asked about this new drug after doing a bit of research, thankfully I have been successful in receiving it, under the special named basis from the drug company. The drug is in the process now of being licensed hopefully in Europe, once it does there is a chance they will pull it from the NHS because of the cost, so I'm thankful I am able to try it now. I only have one other drug left to try so hoping I get use from this first. They don't know what effect it will have, because not many have been given the drug who have already had 6 different types of chemo. Been on it 12 days and last two days I'm starting to feel a bit better. I have a feeling it's doing something, fingers crossed as my liver is getting so bad I could hardly walk or stand up straight with the swelling. Hoping my positive story will give some of you hope, even if things are bad, never give up hope, keep going.
