Just diagnosed

Diagnosed with breast cancer 2 weeks ago , had an MRI scan last Tuesday, appointment to see the consultant on the 9th November , suppose that will be for treatment plan and surgery date, shock to the system coming off the HRT then getting stinking cold , sleeping has been difficult, I'm feeling positive at the moment and seem to be very tired, not sure how I will feel as my journey gets on the treatment route .

  • hi hev11     you have come to the right place , so many supportive people on here, im sure if you read peoples stories by clicking on the picture boxes you will soon connect with many people going through the same, i wish you all the best,,you are not alone, ...

  • Hi Hev11

    Welcome to the forum .

This is a great place to share your story..ask for advice or just to vent your fears/feelings !!! I too was diagnosed with breast cancer in July and it is a massive shock to the system. You will probably go through a whole range of emotions over the coming weeks and months and i would just say ; please keep in mind that the way you are feeling is completely normal under the circumstances and, most importantly, remember that, you are not alone !!!

I have had so much good advice from the lovely people on this forum. It really is comforting to know that you can "chat" to people who totally understand how you are feeling/thinking.

I hope you are well and take care.

  • Hi Hev11

This is the club that no one wants to join unfortunately ... So sorry you have had to join us.

I was diagnosed in July and just finished radiotherapy and it is an emotional rollercoaster. I had MRI ten the next appointment was to discuss treatment plan and told when I would have the op and which one. Be prepared this is normally quick, mine was 10 days after this appointment !! Sleep and tiredness are givens in this situation with what I've learned, along with a very surreal feeling.

I hope you have support from family and friends as they will see you through the hard days. Keep strong and kick cancers butt !!

Sending loads of positive thoughts your way, take loads of care of you.

    Love Claire.

    xx

  • Thanks Claire , breast cancer wasn't on the bucket list but found it's way on , I work full time so lucky I don't spend much time alone , it's a weird feeling as people say you don't look any different , my husband often catch me staring into space and say are you ok we'll sort of, be glad to get treatment plan so I then know what I'm faced with the waiting is a pain in the *** , thanks for you encouraging words . Hugs xx Hev
